Originating from Chiusi in Etruria, these urns surmounted by an anthropomorphic cover (missing here) represent scenes of tragic fights, allegorical representations of the death of the deceased resting in the tank.

The face of our urn shows four combatants, one wearing a crested helmet is struck down by a warrior carrying the ploughshare of a plow. This group of urns has been called the "man with the plow battle urns".

Traces of engoba and paint, especially red.
Some chips. A hole in the lower part showing later use.

Width: 34.5 cm - height: 21.5 cm - depth: 17.5 cm
