This beautiful panel is decorated with tracery carved in low-relief separated by columns, under gothic arcades, of which the upper part is missing.
Each tracery is decorated with a figurative element: three pieces of leather in the shape of shields, held by straps and clasps, bearing the monogram of Christ (IHS), that of the Virgin Mary (AM) and the arms of France; another arcade housing a beautiful leafy fleur-de-lis surmounted by a crown; finally a curved arcade decorated with the scene of the Annunciation, depicting the Archangel Gabriel and the Virgin around a scepter surmounted by a lily.
This panel was certainly part of a chest.
Visible accidents and losses. The first centimeters of the upper part cut and completed with two pieces of wood including a piece of gothic panel. A slit in the lower part. Three reinforcements at the back.
